Synthesis, Characterization and corrosion Inhibition Studies on Mn (II) and Co (II) Complexes Derived from 1-{(Z)-[(2-hydroxyphenyl) imino]methyl}naphthalen-2-ol in 1M HCl Solution

چکیده
Schiff base derived from the reaction of 2-amino phenol and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde its Co (II), Mn (II) complexes have been synthesized characterized by solubility test, melting point/ decomposition temperatures, molar conductance, IR magnetic susceptibility. The number ligands coordinated to metal ion was determined using Job’s method continuous variation. Their conductance values indicate that all are non-electrolytes. Magnetic moment showed both paramagnetic. spectroscopic data indicated ions complexed with azomethine nitrogen deprotonated oxygen atom. Corrosion inhibition schiff were evaluated weight loss in a 0.1MHCl solution for copper metal. efficiency increased increasing inhibitors concentration. negative Gibb’s free energy adsorption (ΔGads) confirmed spontaneity physical process which is inconsistent Langmuir isotherm.
